This is my take on how to get up and running with NGINX, PHP-FPM, MySQL and phpMyAdmin on OSX Yosemite.

Make sure you have the latest version of XCode installed. Available from the Mac App Store.
Install the Xcode Command Line Tools:
xcode-select --install
| # first: | |
| lsbom -f -l -s -pf /var/db/receipts/org.nodejs.pkg.bom | while read f; do sudo rm /usr/local/${f}; done | |
| sudo rm -rf /usr/local/lib/node /usr/local/lib/node_modules /var/db/receipts/org.nodejs.* | |
| # To recap, the best way (I've found) to completely uninstall node + npm is to do the following: | |
| # go to /usr/local/lib and delete any node and node_modules | |
| cd /usr/local/lib | |
| sudo rm -rf node* |
The plan is to create a pair of executables (ngrok and ngrokd) that are connected with a self-signed SSL cert. Since the client and server executables are paired, you won't be able to use any other ngrok to connect to this ngrokd, and vice versa.
Add two DNS records: one for the base domain and one for the wildcard domain. For example, if your base domain is domain.com, you'll need a record for that and for *.domain.com.
