LightCarbon 29er Light XC Full Suspension Carbon Frame (LCFS980)

LightCarbon 29er Light XC Full Suspension Carbon Frame

Workshop Documentation: LightCarbon LCFS980 Build

1. Pivot & Headset Bearings

The frame-specific bearing requirements remain the same as the factory schematic.

Component Bearing Code Size (IDxODxW) Qty Aire Velo Sourcing
Main Pivot 6902-V-2RS 15x28x7mm 2 6902-llu-max
Linkage Pivots 688-V-2RS 8x16x5mm 4 688-llu-max
Headset HSE52407 40x52x7mm 2 45/45 Degree ACB

2. Drivetrain: SRAM DUB Bottom Bracket

For SRAM DUB cranks on a 73mm BSA shell, you need a specific DUB-compatible threaded bottom bracket. Unlike Shimano, DUB uses a 28.99mm spindle diameter.

  • Standard: BSA Threaded (73mm)
  • Sourcing: SRAM DUB BSA Threaded BB
  • Spacer Note: For a 73mm shell and a standard MTB DUB crank, you typically require a 4.5mm outer spacer on the drive side. (Check your specific crank manual for "Wide" vs. "Standard" spindle spacing).

3. Suspension: RockShox SID (Flight Attendant)

Rear Shock: SIDLuxe Flight Attendant

Front Fork: SID Flight Attendant

  • Travel Recommendation: 100mm to 120mm (typical for LCFS980 geometry).
  • Offset: 44mm or 51mm. While the frame recommends 51mm, modern SIDs often come in 44mm, which will slightly sharpen the steering.
  • Sensor Clearance: Ensure the Flight Attendant fork sensor has adequate clearance from the frame down tube at full steering lock.

Workshop Checklist for Flight Attendant

  1. Battery Management: Ensure you have two SRAM AXS batteries (one for the fork, one for the shock) and that they are fully charged before the first calibration.
  2. Calibration: You will need the SRAM AXS Mobile App to pair the fork, shock, and pedal sensor (located in the DUB spindle) and to perform the tilt calibration.
  3. Cable Routing: Since this is a carbon frame, check if the LCFS980 internal routing ports accommodate the Flight Attendant sensor wires if you aren't using the fully wireless version.
