How to link `.m3u` playlists with relative paths

m3u.relative.links.md

1. .m3u playlist should be outside of the "root" directory with media files ("media root")
2. Relative paths in the playlist should start from the name of "media root"
3. Links to both this original root directory and to the playlist file should be in the same new directory
4. Link to the "media root" should be called the same name as "media root" itself

Not sure how ./mediafile1.ext is different from just mediafile1.ext in .m3u.
