Pure ESM package

Pure ESM package

The package that linked you here is now pure ESM. It cannot be require()'d from CommonJS.

This means you have the following choices:

  1. Use ESM yourself. (preferred)
    Use import foo from 'foo' instead of const foo = require('foo') to import the package. You also need to put "type": "module" in your package.json and more. Follow the below guide.
  2. If the package is used in an async context, you could use await import(…) from CommonJS instead of require(…).
  3. Stay on the existing version of the package until you can move to ESM.
require 'cgi'
require 'active_support'
def verify_and_decrypt_session_cookie(cookie, secret_key_base = Rails.application.secret_key_base)
config = Rails.application.config
cookie = CGI::unescape(cookie)
salt = config.action_dispatch.authenticated_encrypted_cookie_salt
encrypted_cookie_cipher = config.action_dispatch.encrypted_cookie_cipher || 'aes-256-gcm'
# serializer = ActiveSupport::MessageEncryptor::NullSerializer # use this line if you don't know your serializer
serializer = ActionDispatch::Cookies::JsonSerializer

What forces layout/reflow. The comprehensive list.

What forces layout / reflow

All of the below properties or methods, when requested/called in JavaScript, will trigger the browser to synchronously calculate the style and layout*. This is also called reflow or layout thrashing, and is common performance bottleneck.

Generally, all APIs that synchronously provide layout metrics will trigger forced reflow / layout. Read on for additional cases and details.

Element APIs

Getting box metrics
  • elem.offsetLeft, elem.offsetTop, elem.offsetWidth, elem.offsetHeight, elem.offsetParent

When should you use DateTime and when should you use Time?

When should you use DateTime and when should you use Time?

It's a common misconception that [William Shakespeare][1] and [Miguel de Cervantes][2] died on the same day in history - so much so that UNESCO named April 23 as [World Book Day because of this fact][3]. However because England hadn't yet adopted [Gregorian Calendar Reform][4] (and wouldn't until [1752][5]) their deaths are actually 10 days apart. Since Ruby's Time class implements a [proleptic Gregorian calendar][6] and has no concept of calendar reform then there's no way to express this. This is where DateTime steps in:

>> shakespeare = DateTime.iso8601('1616-04-23', Date::ENGLAND)
=> Tue, 23 Apr 1616 00:00:00 +0000
>> cervantes = DateTime.iso8601('1616-04-23', Date::ITALY)
=> Sat, 23 Apr 1616 00:00:00 +0000

A python script to heat your computer so that your fingers can work upon your laptop in winter.
"""Heater
A program that spawns as much number of processes as there are CPUs on the computer.
This keeps the core temprature high.
I made this so that my fingers feel more comfortable while working on my laptop during winter.
Caution : An eye should be kept on the CPU temprature so that when it is getting too hot,
the prgoram needs to be killed; else it can damage the CPU.
