Privacy Policy for Cochleo
# Privacy Policy for Cochleo
**Last Updated: February 12, 2026**
## Introduction
Cochleo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application ("App") handles information.
## Information We Collect
**We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.**
### Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- **Quiz Results**: Your quiz scores, accuracy percentages, and completion dates
- **App Preferences**: Your selected quiz settings (category, difficulty, speech speed, number of questions, environment)
- **Tutorial Status**: A flag indicating whether you've seen the welcome tutorial for the current app version
All this data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
## In-App Purchases
The App offers optional in-app purchases (tips) to support development. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.
## Speech Synthesis
The App uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech technology (AVSpeechSynthesizer) to read phrases aloud. This processing happens entirely on your device. No audio data is recorded, transmitted, or stored.
## Background Noise Generation
When you select the "Background Noise" environment option, the App generates white noise locally on your device to simulate real-world listening conditions. No audio is recorded or transmitted.
## Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- To delete your quiz results and preferences, simply delete the App from your device
- Reinstalling the App will start fresh with no previous data
## Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. The App is designed for cochlear implant users of all ages and does not require any personal information to function.
## Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
### Apple Services Used:
- **StoreKit**: For processing in-app purchases (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
- **AVFoundation**: For local audio playback and speech synthesis
## Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
## Your Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data:
- There is no data to access, correct, or delete from our servers
- All your data remains under your control on your device
- You can delete all App data by deleting the App from your device
## Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the App, please contact us at:
**Email**: rewind.feedback@gmail.com
## California Privacy Rights
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents are entitled to ask for information about how we share certain categories of personal information with third parties. Since we do not collect or share any personal information, this provision does not apply.
## GDPR Compliance (European Users)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA):
- We do not collect personal data as defined by GDPR
- No data processing occurs that would require consent
- No data is transferred outside your device
## Consent
By using the App, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
---
**Note**: This privacy policy reflects the current functionality of Cochleo. We are committed to transparency and will update this policy if the App's data practices change in future versions.
