To ship

What's the URL of your prototype?

http://www.eireamerica.com/

What is on your backlog for shipping?

I need to figure out a feedback form and a smoother way to organize the documents for a lower nominal fee than similar sites out there. Also need to navigate the legal and security avenues for that.

What date are you aiming for the launch of this version of your product?

It depends. I'm not really interested in much of a development career seeing as I want to enter academia.

How are you going to pitch this product to your community/related organizations?

I'd present it as a way to avoid the confusing nature of government websites, and a cheaper alternative to said sites.

Once you've shipped your current version, how are you going to iterate your product?

It needs to be a little cleaner. It's a bit too simplistic right now, but at least it functions.

How do you plan to get feedback from your community?

Mainly via emails and social media sharing. Additonally, I'd like to add a feedback form on the site.

To reflect

My scope was:

  • [*] just right
  • too large
  • too small

I was a manager for my product

  • [*] yes
  • no

I would like to manage this product

  • by myself mostly
  • [*] with a designer/developer/team

How would you assess the decisions you made early on the class?

I wish I would have gone with Squarespace earlier; it's so smooth and intuitive.

Did you end up solving the problem you set out to do so? If not, what problem did you solve?

I did, but I'd eventually like to monetize and use a service to organize people's documents.

What roles have you played in developing your product? And what roles do you think you are capable of in future projects?

I'm really not a great designer; I'm colorblind and that doesn't help. But I do have an eye for functionality, and would work with someone with a better eye next time.
