Modding Beat Saber

Why mod Beat Saber?

Leaderboards, multiplayer, easier to install custom songs.

Note: The recommended Beat Saber version for modding is v1.40.8. That means this version will be missing the OST 8 and Coldplay packs. The steps below will leave your orignal steam version unchanged, so you can always play the (unmodded) steam version for these packs.

Steps

  • Download and install the latest version of BSManager
  • Next, to download version 1.40.8:
    • Win + R and type steam://open/console
    • In the console type download_depot 620980 620981 8437413909225671968. (manifest id from here)
    • Wait for download to finish. There is no progress bar. The console will display the destination download path once done.
  • In BSManager, click Add a version (plus button on the side bar) and click Import a version (cog on top-right). Select the path from above.
  • Open Steam Link on your headset, and then click "Launch game" from BSManager to confirm that the game is working.
  • Navigate to the mods tab, and deselect all mods under Essential. Search for BeatLeader and check that.
  • You can also install the BeatSaberPlus mod by heading to their discord server, downloading the zip BeatSaberPlus_v6.4.3-bs-1.40.0-to-1.40.8.zip, and selecting the "Import mods" (bottom-right) option in BSManager.
