YOU SHOULD DO THE SETUP BEFORE you get to the conference center, as the wifi will NOT be fast enough for downloading large files/docker images/etc.

YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THE SETUP FOR THE WORKSHOP THAT YOU ARE ATTENDING! NOT ALL OF THEM!

Check you ticket and follow the workshop setup instructions only for the workshop you are doing.

*your favorite IDE (JetBrains IDEA Community Edition, highly recommended)
*As newer version of Java as you can install

Prerequisites for "Fundamentals of Software Engineering in the age of AI"

  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts
  • Laptop with code editor and Git installed
  • Optional: Access to an AI coding assistant (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar)
  • Optional: A Google account to use NotebookLM

We’re looking forward to having you join the upcoming hands-on lab.

Each attendee will use their own laptop to access a virtual lab environment. To ensure a smooth experience, please review the minimum laptop requirements below and verify your system is ready before the session.

Minimum Laptop Requirements

Hardware

Laptop (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended)
At least 5 GB of free disk space
Ability to connect to Wi-Fi reliably for the duration of the lab
Power adapter/charger (recommended to stay plugged in)
Browser

Latest version of Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome or
Other modern browsers (Firefox, Safari) may work but are not guaranteed
Network

Ability to access external websites over HTTPS (port 443)
No restrictive corporate firewall/VPN blocking access to external training platforms
If using a corporate device, ensure you have permission to install browser extensions or use web-based remote desktops if prompted
Other Recommendations

Disable pop-up blockers for the session if prompted by the lab guide
Join us early to validate access to the lab environment
No software installation is required locally; all lab resources will run in the provided virtual environment.

Please let us know in advance if you anticipate any issues accessing external training platforms from your device or network so we can help troubleshoot.
