PAF Conduct Review - Rank II Ambassador - November 2025

Closing Statement - PAF Conduct Review (December 2025)

Revision 2 - This revision supersedes and replaces Revision 1

After reflection and noting that Alex PromoTeam has acknowledged my post on governance approach, I'm closing this conduct review. While the review has been public for a week with limited engagement, I believe it has served its purpose in highlighting important governance considerations.

My Approach to Governance:

I've tried to be flexible and considerate of circumstances:

  • On 11th October 2025, I withdrew a request for a mediation process for Tommi Enenkel @alice_und_bob (Rank III) when his posts were removed and because sentiment was bottoming at that time due to market volatility that had overshadowed the potential benefits of any mediation, which wasn't the case when I originally proposed the process.

  • I only submitted the Alex PromoTeam @AlexPromoTeam (Rank II) conduct review on 24th November 2025 after careful consideration. Despite similar market conditions, I felt our Ambassador Fellowship deserved a discussion about these alleged violations, especially since they occurred after witnessing the Tommi Enenkel @alice_und_bob situation just ~1.5 months earlier. This suggests a concerning pattern regarding standards that were officially enacted through Polkadot OpenGov and that ambassadors themselves helped create.

Moving Forward:

Our Manifesto's Code of Conduct (Section 3) provides clear consequences for breaches. Clear standards and consistent application respect our collective time and focus. We can spend more time building and less time debating conduct when everyone follows the same established rules. Governance disputes drain our energy and pull us away from our core mission as builders and representatives of Polkadot.

I recognize that without formal on-chain mechanisms, governance procedures remain challenging to implement consistently. I remain committed to contributing to the Ambassador Fellowship in ways that add value while being mindful of bandwidth constraints.

This conduct review is now closed.
