Xcode 26 Format and Save using swift-format

Format and Save in Xcode

If you want to use a keyboard shortcut to format your code on save, you can add one in System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts... > App Shortcuts. Click the + button, choose Xcode as the application, type: Editor->Structure->Format File with ‘swift-format’ as the menu title, and then choose a keyboard shortcut like ⌘S by simply pressing the command+S keys.

Note

This should work for Xcode 16 and higher.

Chromium on Vercel (serveless)

Chromium on Vercel (serverless)

This is an up-to-date guide on running Chromium in Vercel serverless functions in 2022. What you will read below is the result of two days of research, debugging, 100+ failed deployments, and a little bit of stress.

Getting started

Step 1: Install dependencies

Use chrome-aws-lambda that comes with Chromium pre-configured to run in serverless, and puppeteer-core due to the smaller size of Chromium distributive.

* 2. Open exported html file again in the browser
* 3. Copy paste this entire file in console, and execute it (hit enter)
* 4. You will be prompted to save a CSV file. Save it.
* 5. Open Notion. Click Import -> CSV
* 6. Select saved CSV file. Wait for import
* 7. You have a new database with all your bookmarks

Xcode KeyBindings as VSCode

Here's something I spent a long time debugging, so I'm making this gist to help others find the solution when searching.

Summary

postgres 12 on MacOS will cause crashes when forking. The solution is to do one of these two things:

  • add gssencmode: "disable" to database.yml
  • if using homebrew: uninstall postgres, update homebrew, reinstall postgres

Here's some discussion:

osxfuse + ntfs-3g + Yosemite = NTFS R/W
Remove osxfuse if installed via homebrew:
> brew uninstall osxfuse
Install osxfuse binary and choose to install the MacFUSE compatibility layer:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/osxfuse/files/latest/download?source=files
Reboot (optional but recommended by osxfuse)
Install ntfs-3g via homebrew:
> brew update && brew install ntfs-3g
