To get the newest version of rar, check https://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
For example:

wget https://www.rarlab.com/rar/rarlinux-5.5.0.tar.gz
tar -zxvf rarlinux-5.5.0.tar.gz
cd rar
su root
make
make install
exit 
/usr/local/bin/rar
