Ayahly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Quran reading and recitation app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Ayahly is designed to work primarily on-device and does not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information.
Ayahly does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials
- Your location or GPS data
- Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
- Any data that leaves your device and is stored on our servers
The following data is stored only on your device using Android's local storage (Room database and DataStore Preferences) and is never transmitted to us:

This data never leaves your device and is fully deleted when you uninstall the app.
Ayahly makes network requests solely to fetch Quran content. No personal data is included in these requests.
The app communicates with the following third-party content APIs:

These requests contain only the Quran reference being requested (e.g., surah number, ayah number, edition identifier). Your personal data is never part of these requests.

No permission is used for tracking, advertising, or data collection.
Audio recitation files are streamed directly from cdn.islamic.network. The app does not record, store, or transmit any audio from your device's microphone. The app does not use the microphone at all.
If you enable daily reading reminders, the app uses Android's WorkManager to schedule a local notification on your device. This is handled entirely on-device — no notification service or external server is involved.
Ayahly does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app contains no advertising and no user accounts. It is safe for users of all ages.
Because all user data is stored locally on your device and no personal information is transmitted to external servers, the security of your data is governed by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
Ayahly uses standard open-source Android libraries (Jetpack Compose, Room, Retrofit, ExoPlayer/Media3, Hilt, WorkManager). None of these libraries are configured to collect or transmit personal data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
