- decompress the flie
- in VirtualBox, use the media tab to add then resize the
.vhdfile - create a FreeBSD guest with the resized disk
- choose VBoxSVGA
- ignore the warning, choose VBoxSVGA
- choose UEFI
- 3072 MB base memory
- start FreeBSD in single user mode
gpart recover ada0exit- switch from ttyv0 to ttyv1
- login as root, no password
bsdconfig useredit root- set a password, save, OK
pkg upgrade- install
virtualbox-ose-additions-72or greater, see https://community.kde.org/FreeBSD/Setup#VirtualBox and the comment below sysctl hw.efi.poweroff=0ee /boot/loader.conf- add
hw.efi.poweroff=0to the file, save it shutdown -r now- switch from ttyv0 to ttyv1
- login as root
