In this case how to persist data in an upgrade ?

Kinda late, but for anyone who finds this later on:
Here’s a Docker Compose setup that uses a volume for persistence and also configures a domain.

services:
  n8n:
    image: docker.n8n.io/n8nio/n8n
    ports:
      - "5678:5678"
    environment:
      - GENERIC_TIMEZONE=Europe/Berlin
      - TZ=Europe/Berlin
      - N8N_HOST=yourdomain.com
      - WEBHOOK_URL=yourdomain.com
    volumes:
      - n8n_data:/home/node/.n8n

volumes:
  n8n_data:
