| Privacy Policy for DriveSnap | |
| Last Updated: January 18, 2026 | |
| 1. Data Collection and Usage | |
| DriveSnap ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension interacts with your data. We adhere to a strict "Zero-Knowledge" policy: we do not collect, store, or share your personal information. | |
| DriveSnap is a client-side only application. This means: | |
| * No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or browsing habits. | |
| * No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking software. | |
| * No Remote Servers: The extension operates entirely within your browser. Data flows directly from your device to Google's servers (Google Drive API) and nowhere else. | |
| Types of Data We Handle (Locally Only): | |
| * Authentication Data: The extension uses `chrome.identity` to obtain a temporary OAuth 2.0 access token from Google. This token allows the extension to upload files to your Google Drive. This token is stored securely in your browser's local memory and is never sent to us. | |
| * Website Content (Screenshots): When you click "Capture," the extension captures an image of your active tab. This image data is processed in your browser's memory and uploaded immediately to your Google Drive. We never see this image. | |
| 2. Permissions | |
| We request the minimum permissions necessary for functionality: | |
| * activeTab: Access is required to capture the visible part of the current tab. This permission is only active when you explicitly click the extension icon. | |
| * identity: Required to authenticate securely with your Google Account. | |
| * storage: Used to save your preference (the ID of the "DriveSnap Screenshots" folder) locally on your device so you don't have to re-select it. | |
| 3. Data Storage | |
| * Local Storage: We store only non-sensitive configuration data (Folder ID) on your local device. | |
| * Google Drive: Screenshots are stored in your personal Google Drive account. You retain full ownership and control of these files. | |
| 4. Updates to This Policy | |
| We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or service. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the Chrome Web Store listing. | |
