FluidBox Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Version 1.0 — 2025

This Contributor License Agreement (“Agreement”) documents the rights granted by the individual or entity (“You”) making a Contribution to the FluidBox project (“Project”), maintained by FluidBox Studios or its successors (“Maintainers”).

By submitting a Contribution, You agree to the terms of this Agreement.

1. Definitions

1.1 Contribution

“Contribution” means any code, documentation, artwork, data, feedback, or other material intentionally submitted by You to the Project, in any form.

1.2 Submit / Submitted

“Submitted” means sent to the Project via pull request, issue, patch, email, or any method of contribution.

1.3 You

“You” means the individual submitting the Contribution. If the Contribution is made within the scope of employment, “You” includes your employer.

2. Representations and Warranties

2.1 You are legally entitled to make the Contribution.

You confirm You wrote the Contribution yourself, or otherwise have the authority to grant the rights in this Agreement.

2.2 No violation of third-party rights.

Your Contribution does not infringe any copyright, patent, trade secret, or other rights of any third party.

2.3 Employer acknowledgement (if applicable).

If your employer owns intellectual property rights to your contributions, You confirm You have received permission to contribute on their behalf.

3. License Grant

3.1 Copyright License

A perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, sublicense, and create derivative works from Your Contribution.

3.2 Patent License

A perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license covering any patent claims You own that would be infringed by using or distributing Your Contribution.

3.3 Commercial Use

You explicitly allow Your Contribution to be used in commercial versions of the Project, including closed-source or proprietary components.

4. Moral Rights and Attribution

4.1 Moral Rights Waiver

To the maximum extent permitted, You waive any moral rights to control modification, attribution, or distribution of the Contribution.

4.2 Acknowledgement

The Maintainers may choose—but are not required—to credit You.

5. Your Rights

5.1 You keep ownership.

You retain copyright ownership of your Contribution.

5.2 You may use your Contribution elsewhere.

This CLA is non-exclusive. You can keep using your code in any other project under any license.

6. No Warranty

Your Contribution is provided “AS IS,” without warranties or conditions of any kind.

7. No Obligation to Use Contribution

Maintainers are not required to include or retain Your Contribution.

8. Entire Agreement

This Agreement is the complete and exclusive agreement regarding Contributions. It may be updated in the future with notice; continued contributions imply acceptance of updates.

By submitting a Contribution (e.g., making a pull request), You agree to the terms of this Agreement.
