Possible test annotations and results

Things that a test can be annotated with:

  • XFAIL(cond): for tests that are known to be buggy.
  • FLAKY(cond): for tests that have nondeterministic bugs that have not been hunted down.
  • SKIP(cond): for tests not applicable to the current platform, that cannot be fixed by installing or configuring dependencies.
  • MISSING(cond): for tests that can't run because of uninstalled or unconfigured dependencies.
  • WIP: for tests you are implementing
  • TIME(cpumin, cpumax, realmax): min/max computation expected for a test. Also real time added in case you sleep or something.

Python logging settings for root logger
"""
Settings for root logger.
Log messages will be printed to console and also to log file (rotated, with
specified size). All log messages from used libraries will be also handled.
Three approaches for defining logging settings are used:
1. using logging classes directly (py25+, py30+)
2. using fileConfig (py26+, py30+)
3. using dictConfig (py27+, py32+)
Choose any variant as you like, but keep in mind python versions, that

Overview of Datasets

== Overview of Datasets ==

The examples in this book use the "Chimpmark" datasets: a set of freely-redistributable datasets, converted to simple standard formats, with traceable provenance and documented schema. They are the same datasets as used in the upcoming Chimpmark Challenge big-data benchmark. The datasets are:

  • Wikipedia English-language Article Corpus (wikipedia_corpus; 38 GB, 619 million records, 4 billion tokens): the full text of every English-language wikipedia article, in

  • Wikipedia Pagelink Graph (wikipedia_pagelinks; ) --

  • Wikipedia Pageview Stats (wikipedia_pageviews; 2.3 TB, about 250 billion records (FIXME: verify num records)) -- hour-by-hour pageview
