Privacy Policy for Text to MP3 Last Updated: February 2024
-
No Personal Data Collection & Local Processing The Text to MP3 app is designed to function without requiring any personal information. We do not collect, store, or share your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information (PII). Our application is built with a "privacy-first" architecture. All text-to-speech synthesis happens locally on your device using the integrated Google On-Device TTS engine. We do not send the text you type or the study materials you input to any external servers for processing, ensuring your personal notes remain entirely private.
-
Secure Local Storage & Data Ownership The App uses your device's local storage strictly to save generated MP3 files. • No Cloud Storage: We do not use Firebase Firestore, cloud databases, or any external backups. Your data never leaves your device. • Modern Scoped Storage: To protect your device's integrity, we utilize Android "Scoped Storage" standards. Generated files are kept in a secure, app-specific directory. • User-Selected Export: We only access external folders when you explicitly choose a destination using the system’s folder picker (ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE), ensuring we never have broad access to your private photos or other media.
-
Productivity & Accessibility Mission The core mission of Text to MP3 is to bridge the gap between reading and learning. By transforming static study materials into high-quality audio, we provide: • Productivity Solutions: Enabling students to convert study materials into audio files to review content "eyes-free" while commuting or multitasking. • Accessibility Support: Providing an essential tool for users with visual impairments or reading disabilities like Dyslexia, allowing them to consume text content through high-quality speech.
Third-Party Services & Advertising ID To support the App's functionality and keep it free for all users, we use the following services: • AdMob (Google): Used to display advertisements. In compliance with Play Store requirements for Android 13+, the app declares the use of the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) to show relevant ads and prevent fraud. • Firebase Analytics: Used to collect aggregate, non-identifying information about app usage (e.g., which features are most popular) to help us improve the user experience. • Firebase Crashlytics: Used to collect anonymous crash reports strictly for debugging. This data does not contain the content of your text or audio files.
-
Permissions & User Control The App requests minimal permissions to function: • Storage/Media Access: Required only to save and export the MP3 files you create. • Internet Access: Required for AdMob to load advertisements and for Firebase to send anonymous stability reports. • User-Driven Deletion: You maintain absolute control over your data. The app provides a "Delete" function with a confirmation safety check; once you choose to remove a conversion, the file is immediately and permanently purged from local storage.
-
Children’s Privacy The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected or stored on our servers, the App is safe for general audiences and students of all ages.
