As of Opera 123+ it is now IMPOSSIBLE to disable search suggestions!!!!

Solution (assuming you use DuckDuckGo as your default search engine)

  • Open a Command Prompt window as Administrator and run the following command: echo 0.0.0.0 ac.duckduckgo.com >> %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
  • Close Opera
  • Re-Open Opera

PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
