About the "Discord's Hidden Bots" misinformation

I've been seeing a lot of misinformation so:

Definitions of terms used here

Word Meaning
App A Bot account on Discord, always has the "APP" flair
Server App A Bot account with support to be added to Servers, so all the Server's members can use it
User App A Bot account with support to be added to User accounts, so that User can use its commands in across Servers & DMs/GroupDMs

Discord User Apps - A Quick Guide

Welcome to this quick guide I whipped up to help explain what User Apps are on Discord, so Server Owners/Admins/Moderators can know what to expect. (Since Discord doesn't actually have a decent Support Article on User Apps at the time of writing this)

Note

Yes, I will be using the term "Bots" instead of "Apps" here, just for ease of understanding since not everyone has switched over to Discord's new branding for Bots :)

Important

This guide assumes you have familiarity with what Slash Commands and Context Commands are. If you don't, please read this Support Article first!

Important

  • Please do NOT treat Discord Badges as trophies or collectables. They are not.
  • Please do NOT be the next reason why Discord makes yet another Discord Badge unobtainable or shuts down another Program because of "badge hunting" culture.
    • Yes, it's happened too many times.
  • No, gaining a Discord Badge won't earn you friendships or relationships. Only an influx of spam & scam DMs/Pings!
  • Discord's Badges are just pixels on your screen. They literally don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

Announcement - Crimson Levels Discord Bot will be shutting down

I, TwilightZebby, have made the decision to shut down my Crimson Levels Discord Bot. This will happen on the 10th July 2021.

Why is the Bot shutting down?

For a number of reasons really - not all of which will be shared.

I will be starting my third and final year of my Uni degree course from this September onwards. This year will not only make up the main bulk of my final grade, but also I will have my dissertation to create/write up. Quite frankly, I will not be able to properly manage the workload of Uni and the Crimson Levels Bot. I do not want a repeat of April/May 2021 in which there was no development on the Bot due to me neglecting the Bot to focus on Uni work.
