My biggest realization about AI came while watching people argue about truth online. For the longest time, I couldn't figure out why anyone would fund all this division. Sure, you could argue they profit from chaos, but if there really are intelligent people making big decisions at the top - and they'd have to be intelligent to maintain that kind of power - then they must have some deeper goal in mind.
