| For reasons that elude me, this portable DVD writer I bought has a feature that isn't mentioned in the box and only a hint is mentioned in the website. Only does the manual state pretty clearly it has a 'TV mode' Is this supposed to be obvious to the average user? I had no idea. | |
| TV mode: It a special mode the dvd writer can be enabled to that allows it to be used on those dumb TVs that support video playback via the USB port, so the TVs aren't compleetely 'dumb' but don't come close to smart TVs in terms of features. | |
| TO ENABLE TV CONNECTIVITY MODE (FROM MANUAL): | |
| Connect the DVD Writer to your TV. Turn on the TV power. | |
| 2. Open the disc tray and place a disc. | |
| 3. Press the Eject button for 2 seconds. The LED will be solid green. Now it’s TV | |
| Connectivity mode. (When you do again, the function will be OFF. LED turns OFF) | |
| 4. Close the disc tray to play the disc. | |
| Note: The DVD Writer does not support playing copyright-protected (DRM) CD/DVD when | |
| connected to a TV. |
