Steps to reproduce

# Download some gif
curl 'https://media4.giphy.com/media/mCCpMOJCiiLbdBWuv3/giphy.gif' > some.gif

# Split into single frames
mkdir output
convert -coalesce +adjoin some.gif output/tmp.png

pdflatex animation.tex
Display the source blob
Display the rendered blob
Raw
animation.pdf
View raw

View raw

PDF.js in Firefox-130 now plays animate-type animations, see https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/235180
